'Sahana Yathra' Relief Project Receives Army Support


Sri Lanka Army at the request of Ven. Daranagama Kusaladhamma Thero, Incumbent, Sri Sambodhi Viharaya in Colombo, assisted the dispatch of a large consignment of water tanks, bottled water and dry rations to drought affected areas in the North Central Province.

On the eve of the ‘Sahana Yathra’ project of this temple commencing its passage, the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake Tuesday (12) evening went to the temple to see for himself how those arrangements are in place.

Having given instructions to coordinating Army officers, the Commander had a brief chat with the organizers and the Incumbent, Ven. Kusaladhamma Thero on onward passage of those consignments and other coordination work.

Organizers of the ‘Sahana Yathra’ project have decided to hand over distribution of those relief items to Army personnel serving in respective areas. The temple incumbent thanked the Army for all assistance and coordination work.
