'Ruthless' To Expose LTTE Crimes Against Humanity &;amp; Tamil Civilians

The DVD "Ruthless," that displays LTTE’s heinous crimes against humanity as the humanitarian operations were reaching crucial final stages in early 2009, was released on Wednesday (8) during a media conference at Media Centre for National Security (MCNS).

Flanked by tri-service and Police spokesmen, MCNS Director General Mr Lakshman Hulugalle after screening the DVD explained the series of ordeals that the  Tamil people had to undergo under the diktats of the LTTE’s ruthless leader Prabhakaran and his cohorts.

Sri Lanka has proved that all material and video clips against Sri Lanka are false, although the pro-LTTE international media such as Channel-4 and Diaspora had unleashed adverse publicity against the tri-services and the government, Mr Hulugalle said.

“The Tamil community in the North and the East have gone through a harrowing ordeal during the past three decades, due to war and terrorism. These people had no freedom to even speak against the bitter experiences they have had to face,” he added.

The ‘RUTHLESS’ LTTE’s Final Crimes Against Humanity DVD produced by the Defence Ministry, includes facts and evidence supplied by the Tamil people, relating to the war along with the identity of the real perpetrators of atrocities against them.

“All arrangements are in place to release these DVDs and video clips to the international media to make it aware of the correct details of the war period in Sri Lanka,” he said.

“This is not for political advantage or for any personal benefits, but to give a correct understanding about the experiences of the Tamil community of the North and East during the war period,” Hulugalle said.

Answering a question by the Media, Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Nihal Hapuarachchi said it that there was no further LTTE threat in Sri Lanka since the outfit has been militarily defeated.

Police Media Spokesman SP Ajith Rohana, Sri Lanka Air Force acting Media Spokesman Group Captain Roshan Biyanwila and Sri Lanka Navy Assistant Media Coordinator Commander Heetiarachchi also participated.
