This year’s winner in the ‘Ranaviru Real Star Mission IV’ Captain Aruni De Silva of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) inaugurated the construction of her dream house, gifted by the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development on Wednesday (10) at Pothuarawa, Malabe - Pelawatta during a simple ceremony.
Amidst chanting of Seth Pirith by Maha Sangha, the singing woman officer herself laid the foundation stone at the auspicious minute for construction of the Rs 20 million worth new house.
Representing chief organizers of the reality show, Mrs Damayanthi Jayaratne, Additional Secretary, Civil Security & Development, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development participated in the inaugural cornerstone-laying ceremony.
Sri Lanka Navy Engineers are to construct the house in consultation with private sector experts.
Colonel H. Walgama, Centre Commandant, SLCMP, Navy officers and other ranks from Civil Engineering Branch, Army officers and other ranks were associated with the day’s ceremony.
