Sri Lanka Army Elle Association (SLAEA) with the objective of popularizing the game among many, facilitated the conduct of an exhibition Elle match at Duraiappah Stadium on Sunday (11) morning.
The event was organized under the auspices of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarter - Jaffna (SFHQ - J) and Chairman Sri Lanka Army Elle Association.
Four Army teams, two male and two female, met one another in two encounters to introduce rules and techniques of the sport before hundreds of spectators gathered in the ground.
Jaffna Commander during his address at the award ceremony highlighted the facilities given to members of the Army to practise and engage in respective sports.
He further invited Jaffna youths to join the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and join hands together to develop the country.
SLAEA Senior Deputy Chairman Brigadier Thirunaukarusu, Senior Army Officers, school children and sports fans were present at the occasion.
