The construction work of Abimansala, the wellness resort to house 52 totally dependant disabled War Heroes has made rapid progress mainly due to unstinting support the project received from the donors.
‘Abimansala’ is funded under Brave Hearts project, the brainchild of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, and amply backed by the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), presided by Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya.
The entire construction work of the project is carried out with the expertise of the sappers. Engineer Service Regiment soldiers sweat over for the project that would house their disable fellow-soldiers for rest and recreation.
On the instructions of the Commander of the Army, Wanni Security Force Commander Major General Kamal Gunarathne conducted an on-site inspection tour to the upcoming ‘Abimansala’ at Anuradhapura last Friday (27), accompanied by the Area Commander of Anuradhapura Colonel Athula Ariyarathne and other officers, responsible for construction work in the resort.
