Army to Build 12 Technically Sophisticated Modern 'Service Centres': Commander Lays Foundation Stone in Mannar
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army en route from Mullaittivu after addressing troops there dropped in at the 54 Division Headquarters, Mannar on Tuesday (13), and embarked on an entirely different project, initiating the construction of 12 new technologically sophisticated vehicle Service Centres inside country-wide Army establishments.
The "Abimansala 2" (wellness resort) complex, now fast under construction at Wilpitawatte, Kamburupitiya under the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) spearheaded 'Brave Hearts' project, saw simultaneous inauguration of a gigantic task on Thursday (15) morning when main sponsors for the erection of the state-of-the-art new Swimming Pool laid the cornerstones, together with SVAB President and other well-wishers.

The Army generously assisted the Action and Care Trust, a non-governmental organization for establishment of two separate Happiness Centres, exclusively designed for students at Mulliyaveli Roman Catholic School and Selawatte GTM School. The primary objective of those centres is to help children overcome past unpleasant traumas.....

Students of the Kovilmuththumil School in Kovilpuliyankulam, Vavuniya received text books and school equipment from philanthropist Kumudu Fonseka recently.
