Tuesday evening’s most spectacular Commissioning Dinner, plus the customary Guest Night at Diyatalawa Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) was of exceptional importance and memory to all 189 newly graduated officer cadets since it was perhaps the first-ever instance in life where they shared meals with a foreign Head of State, like President Mohamed Nasheed of the Republic of Maldives on the same dining table.
The Maldivian President Mohammed Nasheed said the Security Forces of Sri Lanka have a pivotal role to play in maintaining security and peace in the Asian region. He was of the view that the Sri Lankan Forces cannot a rest even after ruthless terrorism was eradicated in the country.

With the support given by the government, troops belonging to 57, 65 and 66 Divisions under the Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) recently offered their labour and expertise to build 15 new houses for the resettled in Mayanuwar, Annaivilundankulam and Pallikuda areas respectively.
