Troops of 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps (SLRC) under the 111 Brigade serving the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) conducted a Dengue prevention Shramadana campaign and a environment beautification programme at Kandy Wimaladharmasuriya Maha Vidyalaya, Peradeniya on Thursday (04). On the directions of Major General A.M. Perera, Commander, SFHQ – C, ground troops conducted this Shramadana campaign. 
Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army on Monday (8) paid an unannounced visit to the Panagoda new Sports Complex under construction and the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Headquarters, receiving a face-lift. During his sojourn at the upcoming new Sports Complex, the Commander made inquiries as regards different construction phases and about the welfare of engineer troops, engaged in erection work on the site.

A team of 7 officers and 3 Senior Non Commissioned Officers of the People’s Liberation Army of People’s Republic of China, headed by Lt Colonel Gao Guangkin joined the ongoing ‘Exercise Cormorant Strike – V’ on Sunday (7 September 2014), the latest and the biggest foreign team, in addition to six other countries joining it. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Exercise Director Brigadier A.M.R Dharmasiri on arrival at the Exercise Control at the 21 Division Headquarters, Anuradhapura.
A group of 53 past students of Colombo-Ratmalana Blind School, together with their children and spouses went on a three-day (Sept 5 - 8) picnic to Mullaittivu and Jaffna areas.
