Army Tradesmen's Skills Appreciated in New Pettah 'Gold Centre ' Opening
4 Engineer Service Regiment (ESR) tradesmen of the Sri Lanka Army on Friday (5) evening, in what could be called another milestone on the path to recovery and development, transformed the former St John Fish Market at Pettah to be a hub of gold, 'Colombo Gold Centre" and vested it with the public during a ceremony................

Troops of 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps (SLRC) under the 111 Brigade serving the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) conducted a Dengue prevention Shramadana campaign and a environment beautification programme at Kandy Wimaladharmasuriya Maha Vidyalaya, Peradeniya on Thursday (04). On the directions of Major General A.M. Perera, Commander, SFHQ – C, ground troops conducted this Shramadana campaign.
Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army on Monday (8) paid an unannounced visit to the Panagoda new Sports Complex under construction and the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Headquarters, receiving a face-lift. A team of 7 officers and 3 Senior Non Commissioned Officers of the People’s Liberation Army of People’s Republic of China, headed by Lt Colonel Gao Guangkin joined the ongoing ‘Exercise Cormorant Strike – V’ on Sunday (7 September 2014), the latest and the biggest foreign team, in addition to six other countries joining it.
