The customary Sinhala and Tamil New Year get-together at the Army Headquarters (AHQ) in the wake of the dawn of the New Year got underway Thursday (16) morning with Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Ambassador of People's Republic of China in Sri Lanka, HE Mr Yi Xianliang on Friday (17) paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva at the Army Headquarters. The cordial meeting that exchanged views on several bilateral aspects in relation to both People’s Liberation Army of China and Sri Lanka Army was largely focused on ongoing cooperation for training programmes.
Troops of the 55 Division under the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J) held their New Year festival with participation of a large number of civil and Army personnel at the Kadeikadu play ground on Thursday (16).
