The chapel at Jaffna St. Henry’s College, Ilavalai renovated by the troops of the 14 Gemunu Watch(GW) of the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) was opened by Major General Nanadana Udawatta, Commander, SFHQ-J on Tuesday (07). Mr. Philip R. Constantine, Vice President, Old Boys’ Association in the UK and his fellow donors sponsored the renovation of the chapel.

Giving prominence to religious ceremonies, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) proudly marked its 25th anniversary with opening of a Buddha Statue at the Regimental Centre, offering floral wreaths for War Heroes, all rank lunch, military salutes, tree planting, troop address and other arrangements during March 23-25 at the VIR Regimental Centre.
A total of 8603 absentees by Thursday (9) evening have reached their respective Regimental Centres in response to the general amnesty now in effect facilitating absentees to receive their discharge from the Army within a day or two under a new scheme, Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera, Acting Military Spokesman, said.
