One more good Samaritan in the Army came to the fore when Bombardier R.M Sunil Ananda of 12 (V) Sri Lanka Artillery serving the 23 Division Headquarters at Siddhapura, Punani, acted promptly and rescued two passengers in a lorry when it collided against the rear of a speeding container causing serious injuries to both the driver and the other in the front seat.

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) in response to an SOS request of a private company which stores imported seed lentil (dhal) in Pattiwila, Kelaniya area, promptly assisted the recovery of the remains of an employee buried alive inside a mound of seed lentil and debris after one of the 90 ft high storing silos accidentally exploded on Tuesday (10) night.

An English proficiency course, meant to improve English standards among officers serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), reached its successful completion on Wednesday (11). The 25-day long course, organized on a proposal made by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W was followed by 18 officers.
The Colombo ‘Jayagrahanaya’ Foundation with the assistance of the 62 Division, 623 Brigade and 26 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment held a medical camp and a workshop that educated people on self-employment opportunities at the Veherathenna resettled village in Vavuniya. A total of 160 under-privileged family members of the village were given medical attention under this arrangement.
A simple ceremony to distribute school uniforms for children at ‘Piyawara’ pre-school in Veherathenna was held at the Veherathenna Resettled Village in Vavuniya North Grama Sewa Division on 08 March. The donation was sponsored by Mr. Kumudu Fonseka, Chairman, Sri Lankan School in Doha, Qatar and the event was organized by the 62 Division. A total of 56 children received uniforms following this sponsorship.
