Under the new development vision of the government, distinguished guests including Mr. P Digambaram, Minister of Estate and Infrastructure Development, Mr. Harin Fernando, Chief Minister of Uva Province and Commander Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) placed the foundation stones on Sunday (1) for construction of a new housing project at Punagala Estate for the victims in Miriyabedda landslide....

Mrs Nayana De Silva, the new President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) assumed office at the Army Headquarters on Wednesday (4) morning at the ASVU Headquarters during a brief ceremony that preceded religious observances, rites and rituals of all major faiths. Mrs De Silva on arrival was received by Mrs Sepali Samarasinghe, Vice President, ASVU, offering a bouquet of flowers. The former ASVU President, Mrs Damayanthi Rathnayake also attended the occasion.
The India-Sri Lanka Army to Army Staff Talks (AAST), which is held for the fourth time, began at the Army Headquarters Monday (2) with the objective of enhancing the Defence Cooperation between the two armies.
