    Brigadier M.Z.R Sallay of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAC) Quarter Master General, who was promoted to the rank of Major General by HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, together with three more senior Brigadiers, is the first Malay officer in the Army who has received this promotion.   • Supply of Batik Chemicals & Sewing Machines to Enable Women to Make a Living


    Sri Lanka Maha Bodhi Society and National Christian Council jointly gave away Batik producing chemicals and two new sewing machines to the value of Rs 66,400/= to a community centre at Halambewewa village for the benefit of women, resident in the area. Troops serving 622 Brigade and 622 Brigade Civil Affairs Coordinator got the donation organized, enabling poor women in the area to make a living producing Batik works and through sewing.
