  • Three New Meet Records Set Up at Army Athletic Meet


    Sri Lankan Javelin Thrower Nadeeka Lakmali from Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps(SLAWC) established a new meet record in the pole vault event on day one of the 50th Sri Lanka Army Inter-regiment Athletics Championship which began at Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo yesterday. Nadeeka threw a distance of 57.57 metres to improve her last year record of 56.76 metres. Sachith Maduranga established a new meet record at the men's javelin at the 50th while Niluka Rajasekara established new meet record at Women's 5000m 16.43.05 seconds.......

Joshi PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM, ADC, Chief of Naval Staff of Indian Navy currently in Sri Lanka to attend the annual ‘Galle Dialogue - 2013’, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake on Thursday (28) morning at Army Headquarters. Major General Jagath Dias, Adjutant General and Major General J.C. Rambukpotha, Chief of Staff Office of the Chief of Defence Staff received the visiting Navy Chief of India and ushered him.

  • O/L Students Given Helping Hand


    A “Sith Sevana Sahayogitha Sansadaya,”-sponsored humanitarian project saw both 5 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment and 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment serving the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) organized a two-day seminar on Mathematics for more than 200 G.C.E (O/L) candidates of 13 schools in Muttur Educational Zone during November 18-19 at Alhidiya Muslim School and Mollipothana Sinhala School.
  • East-Based Troops Launch Humanitarian Assistance Projects


    Troops of 222, 223 and 224 Brigades under Security Force Headquarters East (SFHQ-E) recently conducted several humanitarian projects in order to help civilians with economic constraints. 3 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops under 223 Brigade provided lunch for 40 kids at ‘Sathyapalar pre-school’ in Koralipattu South on 11 November. Similarly, 50 dry ration packs to pregnant women in Hingurakgoda, 55 dry ration packs to pregnant women in Thissapura.....
  • Director General Infantry Inspects Training Schools


    Major General L.W.C.B.B Rajaguru,  Director General Infantry recently made an inspection tour to Battalion Training Schools of 61, 52, 55 Division Headquarters during 25-26 November. During the visit, the Director General Infantry closely looked at training modules and schedules of 25 Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), 10 Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard and 18 (V) SLLI.
