Ten Army Boxers in Finals at Clifford Cup Meet

Eight boxers from the Army ‘A’ team and two from the ‘B’ team were successful in entering the Clifford Cup finals scheduled to be held this evening at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.


Warm welcome to Indian National Defence College delegates

A group of twenty-one delegates, most of who are course participants at the National Defence College (NDC) of India on an invitation extended to them by the Sri Lanka Army, are now in Sri Lanka as part of their field study tour in the course.

First batch of Master Degree graduates pass out 120 officers graduated at KDA

This year\'s Convocation, for the first time in KDA history awarded Master\'s Degree to 17 Senior Officers of Security Forces.


New Wanni Commander assumes duties

Major General P.S.B. Kulatunge RSP USP USAWC, former Director General, General Staff of Army Headquarters Colombo, took over as the new Commander Security Forces Headquarters Wanni [SFHQ-(W)]after a brief ceremony held at his office on 2 September 2004.


Army chief’s coincidental meeting with Thai monks pays dividends

A coincidental meeting, Commander Lt General Shantha Kottegoda and his wife, Mrs Sonia Kottegoda, has had with a team of Thai monks at the Dalada Maligawa (Temple of Tooth) premises while the Commander was on a private visit, paid dividends after those Thai monks visited the Army Headquarters on Monday (26) with donations to children of Ranaviru families.


Commander shares views with soldiers during his visit to the east

Soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army, deployed in areas under 23 Division Headquarters in Minneriya received a surprise audience with their Commander, Lieutenant General S.H.S Kottegoda when the Army Commander on Friday (23) went there with a view to addressing any issues or grievances that are associated with their performance of duties.


Royal Military Course on IHL begins

Sri Lankan Armed Forces make history joining UN troops

Marking an important milestone in the country’s defence history, the first ever UN contingent of Sri Lankan troops of all three Armed Forces took their leave of the beloved ones, Senior Officers and their workmates on Friday (30) evening after a brief send-off ceremony at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
