Death anniversary of fallen War Hero Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa who made the supreme sacrifice thirteen years ago along with other fellow- war heroes in an LTTE explosion at Araly point in Kayts, was commemorated at the monument in Araly point with the participation of members of the Armed Forces and the Police on Monday (08).

The Sri Lanka Navy during early hours on 16th August 2004 spotted a trawler moving under suspicious circumstances off Chalai close to Mullaitivu. The Navy craft, which detected this trawler, mounted surveillance on the suspected trawler during which it observed a fiberglass dinghy moving alongside the trawler.
