Norwegian Ambassador visits Jaffna

Royal Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mr. Hans Brattskar reached the Palaly airport on Thursday (08) on a two-day official visit to Jaffna. Commander Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J), Major General Sunil Tennakoon and the new SFHQ-J Commander-designate Major General G.A. Chandrasiri received the visiting Ambassador on his arrival at the airport and accompanied him to the SFHQ where the SF Commander briefed the Royal Norwegian envoy about the present security situation in the Jaffna peninsula. Mr. Hans Brattskar had dialogues with the District Secretary Jaffna and Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission officials before leaving for un-cleared areas. Mr. Hans Brattskar was scheduled to arrive in Colombo, the following day (09) after the visit.


Service Chiefs and IGP meet the media over recent LTTE violence

FAC Sunk Off Delft Salvaged; Navy Confident of Restoration, re-Deployment

A LOCALLY built ultra Fast Attack Craft (FAC) sunk by a recent LTTE suicide attack south west of Delft has been salvaged and brought to Kankesanturai harbour.
