Soldiers take the lead in blood donation at Vavuniya

The Sri Lanka Army, conscious of the well-being of the common masses whose interests are always defended at the risk of their own lives, no matter wherever they are, is once again at the forefront as one and only organ of the Armed Forces that could donate so much of blood for use of patients in the country.


Suspects in Army HQ Bomb Attack Remanded

THE COLOMBO FORT Magistrate and Additional District Judge Namal Bandara Balalle yesterday (21) ordered the remand of two suspects who were taken into custody in connection with the attack on the Army vehicle transporting Army Commander Lt Gen Sarath Fonseka by a LTTE woman suicide bomber on April 25, 2006. The order is valid until November 28.

The finals of the Inter Regiment Rugby Tournament played at the Army Headquarter Rugby grounds Monday (14) evening saw the ruggerites of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) emerge victorious defeating their rivals, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR).


SLLI & SLNG soldiers at Shramadana in Army hospital

Even the heading itself on Page 10 of this newspaper shows the extent of mischievousness in reporting.
