The last batch of the Haiti bound UN peacekeepers of the Sri Lanka Army, amidst greetings from the Commander of the Army, their Senior Officers and their next of kin left Sri Lanka on Sunday (31) evening to take over UN peacekeeping duties.
THE ARMY OPERATIONS COMMAND Colombo (OCC) on Monday (31) afternoon officially informed the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) Headquarters and Director General, Secretariat for Coordinating Peace Process (SCOPP) that Tamil Tigers (LTTE) violated the provisions of the Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) by assassinating Military Intelligence Officer Colonel T.R.Meedin RSP at Kiribathgoda National Housing Scheme.
