A high-level three-member military delegation from Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in India called on Lieutenant General Shantha Kottegoda, Commander of the Army at his office on Wednesday (04) on a goodwill visit.
Despite the hectic schedule, ahead of the Army Day and 56th Anniversary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Army, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shantha Kottegoda during the weekend took time off for an inspection tour to the areas under 51 and 55 Divisions in Jaffna.
Grand commemorative ceremonies to mark 56th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army got under way at regional level in Jaffna, Vavuniya and Minneriya Security Forces Headquarters on 10th October which also coincided with the Army Day. Commander Major General S.D.Tennakoon, Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna commenced day’s proceedings in Jaffna after hoisting the Army flag and singing the Army anthem with all ranks at Headquarters premises attaching great significance to the occasion.
