Army-Built Bosath Statue Unveiled in Nuwara Eliya Temple

The Army-built new Bosath statue at the Nuwara Eliya - Kiriwaneliya Sasana Pradeeparamaya was formally entrusted to the temple during a brief religious ceremony on Saturday (8).

22 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 112 Brigade Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) were instrumental in erecting the statue at the request of the temple’s Chief Incumbent and the Dayaka Sabha since they did not have architectural expertise and manpower to build it as an object of veneration inside the temple premises.

The unveiling of the statue took place under the aegis of Ven Dr Welamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Nayaka Thero, Chief Sanghanayaka for Colombo and Chilaw provinces and Chancellor, University of Kelaniya, together with 23 members of the Maha Sangha.

A large gathering of devotees, Army personnel including the Commanding Officer of the 22 SLNG participated in the unveiling ceremony.
