Officers and other ranks serving under the 23 Division Headquarters on Monday (8) gathered together, headed by Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, General Officer Commanding and listened to a lecture on ‘Economical Use of Electricity’ to be in parallel with the ongoing government’s programme on conservation of electricity and power.
Mr N. Thavaneshwaran, Deputy General Manager of Ceylon Electricity Board for the Eastern Province, along with several CEB officials conducted lectures and enlightened the troops on the importance of conservation practices.
A hand book that explains the value of those practices was also distributed among Army attendees at the same occasion.
Meanwhile, a group of soldiers of the 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the 242 Brigade of 24 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) during a community service project on Tuesday (9) cleaned Manchachena School in Sangamankanda.
