On Commander's Instructions, SFHQ - C Holds Workshop to Screen Welfare Needs of Army Retirees &;amp; the Disables

With the singular intention of looking into the grievances or requirements of retired / disabled Army personnel, confined home or still serving at respective Army formations with own disability, the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C), on specific directions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, organized an interactive workshop for them on welfare matters for three consecutive days (April 28, 29 & 30) after bringing all of them in groups to the auditorium at 1 Gemunu Watch (GW) Regimental Headquarters, Diyatalawa.

The workshop, supervised by the Commanding Officer at Diyatalawa Army Base Hospital, was attended by representatives from the Directorate of Legal Services, Directorate of Pay and Records, Directorate of Army Medical Services, Directorate of Welfare, Directorate of Veterans, Directorate of Rehabilitation and Ragama Ranaviru Sevana who offered their consultations and services to the attendees for resolution of their grievances, if any.

More than 193 retired and serving disable Army personnel from Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts, including those living in the Perahettiya Ranaviru village, participated in interactive sessions in the workshop and expressed their concerns to the authoritative officers who came there from the Colombo Army Headquarters.

The arrangement also focused on possibilities of getting more welfare benefits to those attendees by keeping them updated on varied welfare projects, now in progress on the directions of the Commander of the Army.

Each day the workshop continued till about 5 p.m. enabling all of them to find solutions to their pestering problems in above specified areas of relevance to them.
