A group of senior and junior prefects from De Mazenod College, Kandana attended a two-day workshop on ‘Self Development’, conducted by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) at “Wisdom Dorm”, Kankesanthurai during two days (Aug 25 - 26).
During the workshop, those prefects, including 6 female and 39 male students had the rare chance of interacting with several counterparts from St Patrick’s College, Jaffna where both groups were able to exchange views on social and religious backgrounds and intercultural values.
The workshop discussed a range of topics including team work, team-building, decision-making, social etiquettes, ethics, cooperation, leadership, etc, opening new avenues of understanding and reconciliation between the north and the south.
Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J, himself a past pupil of Kandana De Mazenod College, attended the inaugural session of the workshop as the Chief Guest.
The team included 6 female students and 39 male students. Senior officers of the SFHQ-J delivered lectures.
