East Troops Organize A Series of 'Pirikara Pooja Pinkam' &;amp; Social Services

 

With the sponsorship of Mrs Wasantha Pothupitiya and her family members from Gampaha, 24 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) organized a series of Pirikara Pooja Pinkam during the last two weeks.

According to the programme, Pirikara and books, worth of Rs 45,000/= were distributed among 30 monks, studying at Sasthraveli Pirivena in Panama on Saturday (15).

On Monday (17), the same Division organized a another Pirikara Pooja Pinkama at Vidyananda Pirivena in Ampara. About 70 monks received books and accessories, worth about Rs 45,000/= on that day.

On the same day, troops serving the 24 Division organized a ‘Kapruk Pooja’ at Sri Sangabodhi temple, Dadayantalawa, Ampara. During the programme students of the Dhamma School and devotees who observed Sil received school accessories and clothes worth about Rs 45,000/=.

On the following day (18), troops serving the 11 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) of 242 Brigade in 24 Division, conducted an alms giving by offering breakfast and Pirikara Pooja to 30 monks of Hingurana Temple Piriwena, Ampara.

Meanwhile, 5 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) of 224 Brigade in 22 Division under the SFHQ-E organized an awareness programme on ‘child abuse’ at Anhar Ladies College, Muttur and a Sharamadana campaign to clean the public well at Patalipuram on Thursday (20).

27 SLNG of 222 Brigade in 22 Division meanwhile conducted organized a Shramadana campaign at Walatottam School premises in Echchalampattu and 12 SLA of 231 Brigade in the 23 Division conducted a Dengue prevention campaign at Punnakudu village in Batticaloa on Friday (21).
