To help drastically reduce cost of electricity among Army personnel and others, an LED bulb production project was launched on Thursday (23) during a brief ceremony at Ranaviru Resource Centre, Hekitta, Wattala.
Major General A.M Perera, Director, Rehabilitation attended the inauguration as the Chief Guest.
Following an initiative taken by Major General A.M Perera, with the blessings of the Commander of the Army the project was introduced under the guidance of Brigadier W.H.M Manatunge, Commandant, Ranaviru Resource Centre at Hekitta where hundreds of disable soldiers are provided with different vocational training.
Disable War Heroes enthusiastically contribute to this project and assemble those LED bulbs under three Watt specifications; 3 W, 5 W and 7 W.
Products are to be released to Army welfare shops at reasonable price before it is released to the public in the future.
