Profits from Agri Products Go to New 'Abimansala - 3' Project

The recently-founded Army Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock, offering its appreciative share towards the construction of ‘Abimansala - 3’ (wellness resort) for permanently dependent War Heroes in Pangolla, donated Rs 1 million as part of the proceeds, earned from agricultural products to the ‘Brave Hearts’ project.

Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) on Monday (11) received the cheque to the value of Rs 1 million from the Staff Officer - I of the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock at the SVAB Headquarters.

Mrs Jayasuriya expressed her gratitude for the gesture and acknowledged it on behalf of the ‘Brave Hearts’ project that raises funds for construction of wellness resorts.

Sri Lanka Army soon after the completion of humanitarian operations took to large scale farming in Kandakadu, Manik Farm (Vavuniya), Vellankulam, Nachchikuda and Udayarkattukulam areas. In addition to varieties of vegetables and cultivation of cashew, these farms produce fresh milk, curd and other dairy products for own consumption and outside sales.
