Kilinochchi New Woman Soldiers to Receive Housing Bonanza

Parents of those newly-enlisted woman soldiers from Kilinochchi were invited to the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Thursday (31) for a friendly interaction while their daughters are undergoing military training.

During this exchange of views, the 6 (v) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) with the support of the SFHQ-KLN announced the proposed construction of new houses for all those Kilinochchi woman soldiers at a cost of Rs 5 lakhs each.

The new gesture of goodwill to be launched under 4 phases is expected to kick off on National Independence Day (4th February) in a ceremony.

The decision for construction of new houses to the most wanted among those 102 woman soldiers was taken after the SFHQ-KLN personally found that the houses of many of those soldiers remain sub-standard and need attention.

On the instructions of the Commander, SFHQ-KLN, the meeting over the project was attended by the Commander, Forward Maintenance Area, Kilinochchi, Senior Officers, 6 (v) SLAWC Commanding Officer and several other senior officers.
