Two New 'Nenasala' Opened in Kilinochchi

Two more ‘E Nenasala’ IT centres were set up at Mankulam and Paranthan areas with the objective of promoting IT knowledge among students and teachers in the Kilinochchi District.

In response to a request, projected by Major General Crishantha De Silva, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), Sri Lanka’s Institute of Information Technology released 30 modern computers to these new centres at Kilinochchi, together with 32 scholarships for IT studies.

Hon. Namal Rajapaksa, MP on Saturday (23) opened those two new IT centres during a simple ceremony, attended by Governor for Northern Province Major General (retd) G.A Chandrasiri, several parliamentarians, Major General Crishantha De Silva, 57 Division General Officer Commanding, 571 Brigade Commander and a host of other invitees.

The same evening Mr Rajapaksa gave away land title deeds to 80 displaced families who have now arrived in the Thirumurukkandi Grama Seva sector. Each family was allotted a block of land under the new scheme.

A large group of civilians also took part in the events.
