Vavuniya Marks Women's Day with Leadership and Dress Making Workshops

A leadership training workshop was conducted for Tamil and Muslim students in Vavuniya District recently. The two-day workshop held at Tamil Maha Vidyalaya in Vavuniya was organized by the 211 Brigade to mark the International Women’s Day.

The workshop covered a wide area of subjects such as,  Self Development and Setting Goals, Communication and Assertiveness, Performance and Image, Carrier Planning Interview, Net Working, Community Leadership, Child abuse, Project Management Action Plan and Civil Law.

With the intention of developing personal leadership qualities of the next generation, the workshop organized under the personal supervision of Brigade Commander 211 Brigade Brigadier P.M.S.A Pallemulla was conducted by the Sinahla Women’s Development Organization, presided by Mrs. Indrani Iriyagolla.

Meanwhile a Saree and Dress Making workshop was conducted for women at Vavuniya Sarvodaya Centre and Youth Services Centre during the same two days by dress designers, Ms Suneetha Dodamwela and Rathnamalee Wijesinghe to coincide with the International Women’s Day.
