Major General A.W.J.C. de Silva on Wednesday (11) assumed office as the new Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) during a brief religious ceremony.
His predecessor, Major General Nandana Udawatta after his one-year tenure of office, in which he managed to convert the SFHQ-KLN to be a well-equipped military camp within a period of several months, is to take up a new appointment shortly.
Major General A.W.J.C. de Silva upon arrival at the SFHQ-KLN was accorded a Guard Turnout in keeping with military traditions before he addressed General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders and all other ground officers in Commanding serving the SFHQ-KLN.
On Tuesday (10), troops at the SFHQ-KLN honoured the outgoing Major General Nandana Udawatta with a Guard Turnout and presentation of a memento in appreciation of his contribution to the SFHQ-KLN.
