Troops of the Security Forces – Jaffna extending their community welfare projects to interior village areas in Jaffna, arranged a donation of school items to students of Panthalai Kanakasabai school in Thelippalai.
Kanakasabai Primary school in 515 Brigade area functions with an attendance of about 50 students on a daily basis. These children need a helping hand to continue with their education. Having identified the requirements of those children, the Commander 515 Brigade Brigadier Buvaneka Randeniya arranged a donation of school items to all with the coordination of Colombo-based “Jayodanaya” organization.
Each child received a heavy parcel of school items worth over Rs. 3000/= including schoolbags, shoes, exercise books, pens, pencils, etc. at a brief ceremony held on Saturday (09) morning at the school main hall.
The ceremony graced by the General Officer Commander 51 Division Major General Janaka Walgama as Chief Guest was attended by the Commander 515 Brigade Brig. Buvaneka Randeniya, Secretary to the “Jayodanaya” organization, Mr. Indika Thilakahewa, the principal and parents.
