Bangladesh Army Chief Bids Goodbye

General Md Abdul Mubeen, Chief of Army Staff Bangladesh after successful completion of his five-day stay in Sri Lanka left for his country early Monday (28) morning.

Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army and Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch on the eve of the departure of the Bangladesh delegation visited them at the hotel and bade farewell to them.

Bangladesh delegation was comprised of the Chief of Army Staff General Md Abdul Mubeen, Mrs Begum Syeda Sharifa Mubeen, Brigadier General Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Colonel Waker-uz-Zaman, Major Mohammad Ali Reza and Captain Golam Towhid Al kibria.

At the hotel, his Sri Lankan counterpart gifted him with an album that contains memories of his tour in Sri Lanka after exchange of pleasantries for a short while. Mrs Jayasuriya in the meantime, appreciated Mrs Mubeen’s visit to the Seva Vanitha Army Branch and briefed her on the Seva Vanitha new roles in the future before the farewell.

Both Major General R.M.D Ratnayake, Chief of Staff, Army Headquarters and Mrs Ratnayake, on behalf of the Commander of the Army, afterwards saw them off at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.

General Abdul Mubeen during his five-day visit in Sri Lanka called on His Excellency, the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mr D.M Jayaratne, Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L Peiris, Secretary Defence Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya and Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral D.W.A.S. Dissanayake.
