A SELECTED group of children of War Heroes who made the supreme sacrifice, became disable and went missing were awarded school stationery, accessories and equipment on Friday (8) as New Year gifts during a special ceremony held at the Army Headquarters.
On the invitation of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army gave away those gift parcels to the recipients in the company of Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB.
A large section of parents of those children, senior members of the SVAB and a few senior officers were present on the occasion.
