    Photos taken immediately after as well as evidence given by civilians in and around Inuvil, Jaffna where an accidental discharge of the weapon of an Army soldier caused death to a barber on 04th August 2005 around 1.30 p.m. confirm that the unfortunate bullet round had misfired not from inside the saloon but from the outside of the saloon building.
  • SLAIN POLICE SUPERINTENDENT'S REMAINS BROUGHT HOME

    Remains of the late Superintended of Police (SP) Mr. W. D CHARLES WIJEWARDENE, who was brutally hacked to death by LTTE incited mobs in PALAVODAI, JAFFNA after accidental discharge of a soldier's weapon killed a barber inside a public saloon, were flown to KURUNEGALA Hospital late night on Thursday (04) for post-mortem and subsequent funeral arrangements.

    Media did it well this time. Former Director, Planning and Plan Implementation at Jaffna Divisional Secretariat Mr. C. Mahalingam on his way across the Muhamalai Entry/Exit point left behind his two-lakh worth multi-media projector by mistake on 31st July 2004 but went home to repent for his absent-mindedness. With no trace of a hope, he deliberately forgot about it and moved about as usual.

    VAVUNIYA: A SPECIAL POLICE team from TRINCOMALEE acting on information given by some civilians made their way to NAGAILUPPUKULAM in VAVUNIYA late Sunday (3) evening and uncovered an LTTE suicide belt, one hand grenade, two 9-V batteries and two detonator cords.
