    Major General P.S.B. Kulatunge RSP USP USAWC, former Director General, General Staff of Army Headquarters Colombo, took over as the new Commander Security Forces Headquarters Wanni [SFHQ-(W)]after a brief ceremony held at his office on 2 September 2004.
  • First batch of Master Degree graduates pass out 120 officers graduated at KDA

    The 13th Convocation of the Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy (KDA), held at BMICH on Wednesday (24) saw 120 Cadet Officers of Armed Forces graduate after completion of their three year course. This year\'s Convocation, for the first time in KDA history awarded Master\'s Degree to 17 Senior Officers of Security Forces.

    Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shantha Kottegoda laid the foundation stone for an orthodontic complex on 16th Friday morning amidst the chanting of seth-pirith in the presence of senior officers of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps at Army Headquarters in Colombo.

    Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shantha Kottegoda, in what was seen as a gesture of goodwill, bilateral understanding and promotion for award of more training opportunities for Sri Lankan soldiers was in India recently on a week-long official tour where he met Indian Defence Minister, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff and Indian Chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
