A representative gathering of ladies, headed by Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) at the invitation of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Seva Vanitha Unit, visited Attidiya Mihindu Seth Medura on Sunday (17) with the noble intention of entertaining and providing company to disable War Heroes, resident there.

Attidiya Mihindu Seth Medura, saw its birth as a concept of Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence and Urban Development about a year ago, but its administration was later entrusted to the Army by the MoD.

Mrs Rani Jayatillake, Chairperson, SLSR Seva Vanitha Unit and Secretary, SVAB, the organizer of the tour to the Mihindu Seth Medura welcomed Mrs Jayasuriya as the Chief Guest on arrival to the day’s arrangement. All invited regimental Seva Vanitha Chairpersons too attended the entertaining feature of the day at the invitation of the SVAB.

Singing, dancing and comical performances during the evening entertained and provided fun to the inmates who also joined with popular vocalists from time to time as the rhythmic beats began to rend the air. Afterwards, the inmates were treated to a sumptuous dinner by the visiting Seva Vanitha members after special gift parcels were given to each of those disable War Heroes.

Popular artistes, like Damitha Abeyratne, Anusha Damayanthi, Tharushi Perera and a few others added colour and entertainment to the programme.
