Another SVAB Project Bears FruitsSeva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) on a concept of President SVAB Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya shoulders the burden of constructing new houses, completing partially built houses and constructing comfortable toilets for War Heroes. To mark the 61st Army Day the first installment was paid for 12 such disabled War Heroes and next of kin of fallen Heroes. Corporal Sunil Shantha P. A. of Sri Lanka Light Infantry was donated with a new house worth Rs. 1 million. Private Lakmal H. T. S., Private Mallawaarachchi K. P. S. and Private Thilak Kumara C. K. of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) and Lance Corporal Padmakumara K. N. B. of Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) received Rs. 60,000/= each for modern bathrooms. Private Piyarathne K. G. C., Private Premathilaka H. D. C. P. and Lance Corporal Senarathne K. A. of VIR and Sergeant Gunathilake I. J. R. of Commando Regiment received Rs. 100,000/= each and Lance Corporal Wijesuriya K. M. of SLNG received Rs.200,000/= for the completion of construction of their partially built houses. Private Fonseka R. A. A. of VIR received Rs.300,000/= to complete his unfinished house while next of kin of fallen War Hero Corporal Ariyadasa P. A. of VIR too was donated with Rs. 300,000/= for the same cause. These houses and bathrooms are now nearing completion due to the contribution of SVAB and the wholehearted interest of its President Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya.
