 UK based ‘Rata Wenuwen Api’, an organization of Sri Lankan expatriates, mindful of numerous sacrifices made by War Heroes in the battlefields for defence of our motherland, recently offered their share of assistance to the Ragama Ranaviru Sevana during a ‘Talent Show’ organized for them. A special round of discussion on the forthcoming Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) initiated “Tharu Dilena Rayak” musical programme was held at SVAB auditorium on 24th February. THE SEVA VANITHA ARMY BRANCH (SVAB) on the directions of Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya is to kick off the project “Brave Hearts” shortly in order to house totally disable war veterans in a “Wellness Resort” that provides life long care to heroic soldiers. The retreat will take the shape of a ‘Resort’ with all comforts.....
SEVA VANITHA Army Branch (SVAB) managed “Viru Kekulu” pre-school kids at Panagoda had a day of fun and sport skills when they gathered last Saturday (6) to conduct their annual Sports Meet at their school playground. The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs Soniya Kottegoda, a former President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB). 
PEOPLE’S Merchant Bank staff and its management, giving careful thought on recuperating War Heroes took an initiative to donate one hundred pairs of crutches for use of War Heroes with physical disabilities. Mr Anura Wickremasinghe Managing Director People’s Merchant Bank, in the company of Mr Jeewana Karunasiri, Senior Manager for Business Development, Senior Manager, and Mr Gamini Gunawardena, Human Resources, Manager donated those walking aids to Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) during a brief meeting at Narahenpita Military Hospital on Friday (5).
KIDS at “Viru Kekulu” pre-school at Maning Town had a day of fun and sport skills when they gathered last Thursday (4) to conduct their annual Sports Meet at their school playground. The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Gnana Balagalle, a former President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB).
THE ANNUAL SPORTS MEET at Diyathalawa Viru Kekulu Pre-school, run by Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) was held at Diyathalawa Polo ground on 27th February 2010. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB. This was organized to improve the sports skills of the pre-school students. Tricycle races, obstacle crossing, fancy dress parades, team events and PT display, etc were among prominent and interesting features in the event.
THE RENOWNED beautician, Mrs Chandani Bandara who has expressed her strong desire to support all Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) initiated fund-raising projects, conducted a model beauty culture workshop for SVAB members during February month meeting session at SVAB auditorium, Army Headquarters.On an invitation extended to her by Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB.........
THE PROPOSED Wellness Resort at Anuradhapura received further patronage during the February month Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) meeting when one Mrs Chandra Fernando, and expatriate from Mount Lavinia gave away Rs 30,000 towards the project in memory of her late parents. Mr Upali Gallage and Mrs Leelawathi on behalf of the expatriate, Mrs Chandra Fernando made the donation to Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB during the monthly meeting at SVAB auditorium, Army Headquarters.
THE ANNUAL sports festival at Galle ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-school, managed by Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) got underway during the weekend at 2 Gemunu Watch (V) play ground, Galle Fort. The sports festival, an annual event at the pre-school, attended by over one hundred kids, belonging to Galle District based War Hero families, is also meant to promote sports skills among those kids, attending this SVAB school. Sunday’s (21) ceremony saw Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB gracing the occasion as Chief Guest gave away special gifts among kids who excelled in different spheres of sports.
