Army Captures Illuppaikaddavali LTTE Military Bases

58 Division and Army commandos captured one of the largest LTTE military bases in ILLUPPAIKADDAVALI, about 10 km north of VIDATTALTIVU on 20th July 2008.

This is the largest LTTE base that was overrun by the army after they captured VIDATTALTIVU.

This LTTE base lying between 20th and 21st mile post on the MANNAR – POONERIYN A- 32 main road was of high significant for the LTTE to carryout their administrative & logistic requirement. Geographical situation of this place earlier permitted the terrorists to move their sea tigers as it is on the north western coastal belt of the Island.
