55 Division Troops Contribute to Coastal Belt Clean-up

Troops serving the 55 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) took part in a drive to clean up coastal belt areas in their respective areas from Kaddaikaadu Junction along Chundikulam coastal stretch in Jaffna on account of the 70th Independence Day celebrations on Sunday (4).

The programme was conducted on the instructions of Brigadier Jayantha Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division in line with the Jaffna Commander’s Coast Conservation programme now underway.

More than 160 troops of the 55 Division along with a gathering of civilians participated in the programme and cleaned up the costal beach patch.
