New Shrine at BOD Ragama Opened

The newly-built Buddhist shrine room in the Base Ordnance Depot (BOD) at Ragama, a long-felt need in the premises for spiritual purposes was opened for veneration on Thursday (28) amid religious observances.

Ven Thuruwila Wimaladhamma Nayaka Thero, together with several members of the Maha Sangha chanted Seth Pirith and blessed the inaugural opening ceremony in the premises. This meritorious project was made possible, following the generosity extended by all ranks working in the BOD at Ragama.

Colonel C.U Marasinghe, Commandant at BOD, Ragama amid Seth Pirith unveiled the statue and opened the new shrine.

Several Officers and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
