‘Ranaviru Real Star Mission V’ Super Star & Finalists Get Their Awards

The recent ‘Ranaviru Real Star Mission V’ singing hero, Lance Bombardier Sampath Sri Palansuriya of Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) was overjoyed on Thursday (19) to witness the inaugural foundation-laying ceremony for his ‘dream house’ (1st prize) at Prabuddagama Ranaviru village in Horana during a simple ceremony.

The ceremony also coincided with the simultaneous award of ten more land title deeds to ‘Ranaviru Real Star Mission V’ achievers for construction of new houses through a raffle draw, done on the same occasion to select the recipients, out of 35 finalists from the year 2016 Ranaviru Real Star show.

The ceremony, dignified by the presence of Hon. Palitha Thewarapperuma, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs and Member of Parliament for Kalutara District as the Chief Guest, Secretary Defence, Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Chief of Staff of the Navy, Director, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering Branch of the Air Force, Military Secretary, Army Adjutant General, senior tri-service officers, senior officials of the Ministry of Defence, Dialog representatives who are also the sponsors of the first prize and invitees, began soon after the Chief Guest arrived at the location.

Buddhist religious observances, administered by Ven. Undupatigoda Anuruddha Thero, Chief Incumbent, Prabuddagama temple and the subsequent chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by members of the Maha Sangha present, set the stage ready for the auspicious-laying of the cornerstones for the construction by 11 distinguished invitees since it also symbolized the home constructions in the other 10 plots of land, each 12 perches in extent in future, distributed among those finalists.

Mr Sarath Chandrasiri Vithana, Secretary to the State Ministry of Land Affairs, made the welcome address and invited the Chief Guest to kick off the lottery draw for distribution of those 10 land plots. The new house for the Super Star costs Dialog Rs 20 million. The day’s Chief Guest also addressed the gathering and shared his thoughts with the occasion.

Troops of the Sri Lanka Artillery have undertaken the task of building this house for the singing star in consultation with Corps of Engineer Services (CES).

Mr W.A Kulasooriya, Additional Secretary (Administration) at Ministry of Defence proposed the vote of thanks. Family members of Lance Bombardier Sampath Sri Palansooriya also took part in the day’s ceremony.
