Young Officers Complete SLSME Earth Moving Equipment Module

Eight young Officers who recently joined the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers completed their Earth Moving Equipment and Construction Plant Package module recently at the Engineer Brigade in Boo Oya.

This training was a vital component, included in the Young Officers’ Engineer Course No – IX which is currently progressing at the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME).

Opening remarks at the inauguration of the training phase were made by Brigadier Amith Seneviratne, Commander, Engineer Brigade when it commenced on 23 April 2018. The module was completed on Friday (11) during a brief ceremony.

The successful completion of the component enabled young Officers to be empowered with theoretical and practical aspects to meet with all combat engineer requirement in the Army.

Brigade Commander Engineer Brigade, Colonel (Project) Engineer Brigade, other qualified Officers and civil lecturers contributed as resources personnel.

Colonel (Project) Engineer Brigade Lieutenant Colonel Gamini Weerakoon graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
