The newly-appointed Yakkala 'Ranaviru Apparel' Commandant, Major General Manjula Manatunga recently assumed duties as the 4th Commandant at the Ranaviru Apparel (RVAPL) factory in Yakkala.
He was honoured by Ranaviru Apparel troops on arrival in a Guard Turnout in accordance with the military traditions before he signed an official document amid religious blessings to symbolize the assumption of office.
Afterwards, he planted Indian Gooseberry (Nelli) sapling in the camp premises as a symbol of memory before he addressed the troops. A formal tea arrangement culminated the morning session. In the afternoon, he visited the factory complex and inquired into the production process, infrastructure facilities, welfare projects and other related aspects.
The newly-appointed Commandant Major General Manjula Manatunga succeeded Brigadier Senaka Dassanayake.
Several key appointment holders including the Deputy Commandant, Factory Managers at Yakkala and Alawwa Factories, Human Resource Manager, Production Planning and Work Study Manager and other ranks serving the RVAPL attended the occasion.
