583 Brigade Headquarter troops serving under the 58 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ –West) in collaboration with business community and an eye surgeon, organized an eye clinic for under privileged people living in Kegalle area on Monday (19).
323 persons, out of several hundred affected with eye infections and impairments were provided with spectacles worth nearly Rs 387,600.00 sponsored by the Eye Surgeon Dr Nimal Weerakoon together with businessmen in the area.
The clinic was conducted under the supervision of Brigadier Randula Hathnagoda, Commander 583 Brigade.
Chief Incumbent at Ranwala ‘Rajamaha Viharaya’, District Secretary of Kegalle, Government officials, together with several senior officers including the 583 Brigade Commander and Commanding Officers participated in the programme.
