Wanni Commander Conducts Follow-up Inquiry into Welfare Project

As a follow-up inquiry into the well-being of a family who had been earlier gifted with a new house by the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W on Thursday (30) undertook a visit to Rambakapuwewa, Kebithigollewa en route to the 62 Division Headquarters and visited the inmates at the new house.

In May 2015, the SFHQ-W learning about the pathetic plight of a family with two blind persons, intervened to erect a house for them on the directions of the Commander, SFHQ-W with the support of the troops in the 62 Division.

Considering the dire need of the family, 17 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops in the 62 Division, put up a new fence around the house with those blind persons at a cost of about Rs 57,000/= as a protective measure. On Thursday (30) Major General Perera called at this house and met the inmates inquiring into their well-being. He also gave away gift parcels to the family members on the same occasion.

On his way back, the Wanni Commander paid a visit to the Sri Sambodhi Viharaya in Kokilai and met with the resident Buddhist monk.

Together with the visiting Commander, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, 621 and 622 Brigade Commanders and a few senior officers participated in the visits.
