Troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) constructed a house with all facilities, worth of Rs. 1.5 million and handed it over on Saturday (24) to a needy widow and for her child by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W at Wedithibbagala, Poonewa.
The plan and the construction of the house were carried out with the supervision and guidance of Lieutenant Colonel K.R.S.K.G Kahagalle, former Civil Affairs Officer, SFHQ-W.
Meanwhile, the said child who is schooling was gifted with a cash deposit of Rs. 65,000.00 and in a fixed account. In addition, furniture was also provided to the house.
Mr. W.M Muthubandara, a resident from Poonewa donated the land for this meritorious act and his gesture was highly appreciated by the Commander, SFHQ-W and the gathering.
