Visiting Chinese Military Team Calls on Commander of the Army

A Chinese military delegation, currently in Sri Lanka on a friendly familiarization tour, called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya at his office on Thursday (5) morning.

The military delegation, headed by Senior Colonel W.U Xiaoyi of the Army was accompanied to the Commander’s office at Army Headquarters by Mr Wu Jianghao, Ambassador for People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka. 

The delegation, comprised of Senior Colonel W. U Xiaoyi, Colonel He Zhoujin, Colonel Guo Hongtao, Lieutenant Colonel Cui Zhipeng and Lieutenant Zbang Heng had a round of friendly exchange of views on matters of military importance and ongoing training programmes in both armies.

Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya briefed those visiting officers on strategies used during successfully concluded Humanitarian Operations in Wanni. Those visitors were also keen on learning the overall picture of the roles, played by the Army for eradication of terrorism in the country during exchange of views.
