‘Army Para Volleyball Tournament – 2013,’ organized by the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) got underway recently at the VIR indoor stadium at Boyagane, Kurunegala.
It was held under two phases and the second standing phase was contested by para volleyball players of VIR, Commando Regiment, Special Forces, Sri Lanka National Guard, Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Gajaba Regiment, Gemunu Watch, Sri Lanka Signal Corps and Sri Lanka Engineers.
VIR players beating their rival, Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) carried away the championship in the tournament.
Major General R.V. Samarathunga, Colonel of the VIR as the Chief Guest watched the final encounter.
